Die in der Biomasse enthaltene Energie kann auf folgende Weise nutzbar gemacht werden:<\/p><ul><li><strong>Verbrennung: <\/strong>Bei der Verbrennung von Biomasse entsteht Dampf, der eine Turbine antreibt und Strom erzeugt.<\/li><li><strong>Anaerobe Verg\u00e4rung:<\/strong> Biomasse wird von Bakterien abgebaut, um Biogas zu erzeugen, das zur Strom- oder W\u00e4rmeerzeugung genutzt werden kann.<\/li><li><strong>Biokraftstoffe:<\/strong> Biomasse wird in fl\u00fcssige Kraftstoffe wie Ethanol und Biodiesel umgewandelt, die f\u00fcr den Verkehr genutzt werden k\u00f6nnen.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Was sind die Vorteile der Bioenergie?<\/strong><\/p><p>Bei nachhaltiger Beschaffung bietet Bioenergie die folgenden Vorteile:<\/p><ul><li><strong>Erneuerbare Energien:<\/strong> Da Bioenergie im \u00dcberfluss vorhanden ist und sich schnell regeneriert, wird sie von der kalifornischen Energiekommission als erneuerbare Stromquelle eingestuft.<\/li><li><strong>Verl\u00e4sslichkeit: <\/strong>Bioenergieanlagen k\u00f6nnen wetter- und tageszeitunabh\u00e4ngig Strom erzeugen und lassen sich je nach Stromnachfrage problemlos ein- und ausschalten.<\/li><li><strong>Kohlenstoffneutralit\u00e4t:<\/strong> W\u00e4hrend bei der Verbrennung von Biomasse zur Energieerzeugung CO2-Emissionen freigesetzt werden, binden die zur Biomassegewinnung verwendeten Pflanzen im Laufe ihres Lebens durch Photosynthese eine fast gleich gro\u00dfe Menge an CO2.<\/li><li><strong>Abfallvermeidung:<\/strong> Durch die Erzeugung von Bioenergie k\u00f6nnen Abf\u00e4lle umgelenkt und zur Stromerzeugung genutzt werden, wodurch die mit Deponien und Milchviehbetrieben verbundenen klimasch\u00e4dlichen Emissionen drastisch reduziert werden.<\/li><li><strong>Gr\u00fcne Arbeitspl\u00e4tze: <\/strong>Die Bioenergiebranche hat bereits <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.energy.gov\/eere\/bioenergy\/downloads\/4-fast-facts-about-biomass\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">285.000 inl\u00e4ndische Arbeitspl\u00e4tze<\/a><\/span>und hat das Potenzial, in den kommenden Jahren zu expandieren.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Welche Umweltauswirkungen hat die Bioenergie?<\/strong><\/p><p>Da sich die Biomassetechnologie verbessert und die Kosten f\u00fcr die Schaffung von Anlagen sinken, ist es wichtig, nachhaltige Verfahren einzuf\u00fchren, die die Umweltaspekte der Bioenergie ber\u00fccksichtigen.<\/p><ul><li><strong>Nicht Carbon-Zero:<\/strong> Obwohl Biomasse als kohlenstoffneutral angesehen werden kann, verursacht sie dennoch Emissionen und ist daher keine kohlenstofffreie Energiequelle wie Solar- oder Windenergie.<\/li><li><strong>Luftverschmutzung: <\/strong>Bei der Erzeugung von Bioenergie k\u00f6nnen Schadstoffe wie Stickoxide, Kohlenmonoxid und Methan in die Luft gelangen. Die Erzeugung von Bioenergie ist zwar nicht emissionsfrei, aber es ist erw\u00e4hnenswert, dass bei der Erzeugung von Bioenergie aus Abfall weit weniger Methan entsteht als bei herk\u00f6mmlichen Entsorgungsmethoden.<\/li><li><strong>Land- und Wassernutzung: <\/strong>MCE spricht sich gegen den Anbau von Nutzpflanzen f\u00fcr die <em>einziger Zweck<\/em> der Erzeugung von Bioenergie, da sie sehr fl\u00e4chen- und wasserintensiv ist.<\/li><li><strong>Auswirkungen auf die Umwelt: <\/strong>Wenn Biomasse nicht nachhaltig beschafft wird, kann sie zur Abholzung von W\u00e4ldern und zum Verlust der biologischen Vielfalt f\u00fchren.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Wie stellt die MCE eine nachhaltige Beschaffung von Bioenergie sicher?<\/strong><\/p><p>Biomasse und Bioabfall machen aus <a href=\"https:\/\/mcecleanenergy.org\/de\/energy-suppliers\/\">um 6%<\/a> des Light Green-Stromdienstes von MCE.
