Las VPP son una de las formas en que los proveedores de energ\u00eda est\u00e1n creando un futuro energ\u00e9tico m\u00e1s resistente y flexible. En este blog trataremos la definici\u00f3n de las VPP y c\u00f3mo contribuyen a reforzar nuestra red el\u00e9ctrica.<\/p><p><strong>\u00bfCu\u00e1l es la diferencia entre una central el\u00e9ctrica virtual y una central el\u00e9ctrica tradicional?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p><p>Al igual que una central el\u00e9ctrica tradicional, las VPP suministran electricidad a la red, pero hay algunas diferencias clave que las diferencian. Una central el\u00e9ctrica tradicional consta de una gran fuente de energ\u00eda central ubicada en un lugar concreto, como una central de gas.<\/p><p>En cambio, una VPP consta de varios recursos energ\u00e9ticos distribuidos a peque\u00f1a escala que est\u00e1n conectados en una red virtual. Ejemplos de recursos energ\u00e9ticos distribuidos son la energ\u00eda solar en los tejados, las bater\u00edas dom\u00e9sticas y los termostatos inteligentes. class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>\u00bfCu\u00e1les son las ventajas de una central el\u00e9ctrica virtual?<\/strong><\/p><p>Las VPP ayudan a cubrir las necesidades energ\u00e9ticas con dispositivos in situ para que la gente tenga m\u00e1s control sobre su consumo. Los hogares y las empresas contribuyen colectivamente a la salud de la red equilibrando la cantidad de energ\u00eda suministrada a la red con la cantidad de energ\u00eda que demandan. Tradicionalmente, la principal estrategia para equilibrar la oferta y la demanda de electricidad consiste en aumentar el suministro de energ\u00eda. En situaciones de emergencia o cuando el suministro el\u00e9ctrico de la red tiene que aumentar r\u00e1pidamente para satisfacer la demanda, esto puede significar encender una central el\u00e9ctrica para aumentar el suministro. Las VPP, en cambio, permiten un control m\u00e1s estrecho de la demanda in situ porque incorporan tecnolog\u00edas que crean demanda, como termostatos inteligentes y cargadores de veh\u00edculos el\u00e9ctricos.<\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ventaja #1: Menos interrupciones<\/span><\/p><p>Los cortes pueden producirse cuando no hay suficiente suministro de energ\u00eda para satisfacer la demanda. Las VPP proporcionan herramientas para responder a las fluctuaciones de la demanda de forma m\u00e1s eficaz y r\u00e1pida. Utilizar una VPP en momentos cr\u00edticos para reducir el consumo de energ\u00eda y desplegar un suministro adicional de energ\u00eda limpia es un recurso inestimable para ayudar al Estado a evitar apagones.<\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Beneficio #2: M\u00e1s energ\u00eda limpia<\/span><\/p><p>La energ\u00eda generada a partir de renovables var\u00eda de un d\u00eda para otro. A medida que se ha ido generalizando la energ\u00eda solar en los tejados, California ha acumulado un <a href=\"https:\/\/mcecleanenergy.org\/es\/news\/energy-expert-duck-curve-2\/\">exceso de energ\u00eda solar en pleno d\u00eda<\/a>. Las VPP permiten a los gestores trasladar la demanda de electricidad a las horas en que hay m\u00e1s energ\u00eda renovable en la red o utilizar la energ\u00eda solar cuando no brilla el sol, cargando una bater\u00eda de almacenamiento para su uso posterior.<\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Beneficio #3: Un medio ambiente y unas comunidades m\u00e1s saludables<\/span><\/p><p>Los VPP ayudan a reducir la necesidad de <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mcecleanenergy.org\/es\/mce-news\/how-peaker-plants-impact-california-communities\/\">plantas de cogeneraci\u00f3n<\/a><\/span><u>,<\/u> que son centrales de combustibles f\u00f3siles contaminantes a las que se recurre en momentos de gran demanda, tambi\u00e9n conocidos como \"picos\". Estas centrales emiten contaminaci\u00f3n atmosf\u00e9rica t\u00f3xica y pueden causar importantes problemas sanitarios y medioambientales a las comunidades circundantes. No todas las VPP son iguales; por ejemplo, algunas incluyen generadores di\u00e9sel de reserva. El proyecto piloto de MCE s\u00f3lo utiliza fuentes de energ\u00eda limpia para responder r\u00e1pidamente a la demanda durante los periodos de mayor consumo energ\u00e9tico, reduciendo as\u00ed la necesidad de estas centrales contaminantes y favoreciendo comunidades m\u00e1s sanas para todos.<\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ventaja #4: Menores costes energ\u00e9ticos<\/span><\/p><p>Las VPP pueden desplazar el consumo de energ\u00eda a las horas en que los costes energ\u00e9ticos son m\u00e1s bajos y reducir significativamente las facturas. Los hogares y las empresas que participan en una VPP tienen una participaci\u00f3n directa en el mercado y pueden ser compensados por su apuesta o participaci\u00f3n, como es el caso de la VPP de MCE.<\/p><p><strong>\u00bfC\u00f3mo ser\u00e1 en la pr\u00e1ctica la VPP de la MCE?<\/strong><\/p><p>El proyecto piloto VPP de MCE se encuentra actualmente en fase de desarrollo y est\u00e1 disponible para determinados hogares y empresas de Richmond. MCE y nuestros socios del proyecto se est\u00e1n comprometiendo con los sitios elegibles para ofrecer tecnolog\u00edas de energ\u00eda limpia.<\/p><p>En la primera fase de desarrollo, 100 hogares recibir\u00e1n actualizaciones gratuitas de tecnolog\u00eda de energ\u00eda limpia. De estas viviendas, 90 tendr\u00e1n la oportunidad de recibir mejoras de energ\u00eda limpia gratuitas o de bajo coste por participar en el programa VPP. Las 10 viviendas restantes estaban previamente abandonadas y recientemente han sido adquiridas y modernizadas por completo para convertirlas en viviendas con cero emisiones netas de carbono. Tambi\u00e9n reducir\u00e1 la presi\u00f3n sobre la red, disminuyendo el riesgo de cortes de electricidad y la necesidad de centrales el\u00e9ctricas contaminantes.<\/p><p><strong>\u00bfPuedo unirme a la central virtual de MCE?<\/strong><\/p><p>Actualmente, s\u00f3lo se puede participar en este programa piloto por invitaci\u00f3n.
