Nich\u00e9e au centre du comt\u00e9 de Contra Costa, \u00e0 l'est des collines d'Oakland, Moraga se trouve dans une vall\u00e9e qui offre un acc\u00e8s facile aux sentiers et aux espaces ouverts tels que le parc Rancho Laguna et le populaire sentier r\u00e9gional Lafayette-Moraga.<\/p>\n<p>Moraga abrite \u00e9galement le Saint Mary's College of California (photo ci-dessus), une universit\u00e9 catholique priv\u00e9e. Ce succ\u00e8s est largement d\u00fb \u00e0 l'am\u00e9lioration des infrastructures et des pratiques de r\u00e9acheminement des d\u00e9chets, ainsi qu'aux campagnes \u00e9ducatives men\u00e9es par les \u00e9tudiants qui ont inform\u00e9 la communaut\u00e9 universitaire sur les meilleures pratiques de compostage et de recyclage.<\/p>\n<p>Pour la ville de Moraga, 2017 a \u00e9t\u00e9 une \u00e9tape monumentale vers la r\u00e9alisation de ses objectifs en mati\u00e8re de durabilit\u00e9 environnementale. En mai, <a href=\"https:\/\/patch.com\/california\/lamorinda\/moraga-awarded-grant-rubberized-roads\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Moraga a obtenu une subvention de CalRecycle<\/a> pour d\u00e9ployer une strat\u00e9gie de r\u00e9paration des infrastructures \u00e0 la fois simple et efficace. Moraga est l'une des 20 collectivit\u00e9s californiennes s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9es pour r\u00e9parer les routes \u00e0 l'aide de caoutchouc provenant de pneus recycl\u00e9s. Cette pratique durable \"revalorise\" les vieux pneus, d\u00e9tournant les d\u00e9chets de la d\u00e9charge tout en am\u00e9liorant l'infrastructure de la communaut\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>En juin, le conseil municipal de Moraga a vot\u00e9 en faveur de l'adh\u00e9sion \u00e0 la MCE, la premi\u00e8re communaut\u00e9 du comt\u00e9 de Contra Costa \u00e0 le faire en 2017.
