En 2018, MCE a sign\u00e9 un contrat pour acheter l'\u00e9nergie d'un parc \u00e9olien de 100 m\u00e9gawatts dans le nord du comt\u00e9 de Santa Barbara. Cette production \u00e9olienne fournira suffisamment d'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 pour alimenter 30 000 foyers moyens par an.<\/p>\n

Les routes et les fondations ont \u00e9t\u00e9 construites et les pales des turbines sont en train d'\u00eatre livr\u00e9es sur le site. Les pales sont si massives qu'elles n\u00e9cessitent un camion sp\u00e9cial pour les d\u00e9placer de haut en bas et d'un c\u00f4t\u00e9 \u00e0 l'autre afin de n\u00e9gocier les virages et d'\u00e9viter les obstacles. Le premier jour a \u00e9t\u00e9 un tel spectacle que les habitants de Lompoc, y compris une \u00e9cole locale, se sont d\u00e9plac\u00e9s pour l'observer.<\/p>\n
