The Power of Partnerships: How MCE Strengthens Communities

The Power of Partnerships: How MCE Strengthens Communities

Meaningful partnerships have the power to transform communities, expand access to critical services, and create lasting positive impacts. Through collaborations with community-based organizations (CBOs) and municipalities, MCE is able to support ongoing work through sponsorships and participating in community events. Partnerships with MCE often begin with sponsorships, but we actively seek ways to expand those connections and create a greater impact.

What Makes Partnerships with MCE Unique?

By partnering with local organizations, we leverage the trusted relationships that CBOs and other non-profits have built within their communities. These organizations understand the unique needs of their stakeholders and have the expertise to communicate in culturally relevant ways.

“Partners have unique skillsets that we could lean on, in particular, the Spanish language access.”

For example, North Marin Community Services and Canal Alliance have promotores, which are bilingual community liaisons who serve as trusted advisors within the Spanish-speaking community.

By partnering with these organizations, we can effectively bust myths, share information about our programs, and ensure equitable access to clean energy services.

How Partnering with MCE Supports Organizations

By partnering with MCE, organizations have the opportunity to access benefits that help them grow and sustain their mission:

  • Increased Visibility: Our partnerships help organizations gain recognition and expand their reach by connecting them with our network to increase their presence in the community, leading to new grant opportunities and expanding their initiatives.
  • Expanded Networks & Resources: MCE has the ability to connect partners with new potential funding sources and supporters, strengthening valuable programs and community efforts to promote long-term sustainability.

One example of a successful partnership can be seen through our continued work with Rising Sun Center for Opportunity to create new workforce development opportunities for young jobseekers in the Bay Area. As part of this effort, graduates from The LIME Foundation’s recent winter cohort are learning about opportunities to apply to Rising Sun’s Climate Careers program, a hands-on training initiative focused on electrification and sustainable home energy solutions.

This program offers a powerful next step for youth, especially those from underserved communities, who are looking to launch a career in the green economy. Through Climate Careers, participants will gain practical skills and real-world experience, preparing them to apply for jobs that are shaping the future of energy.

As part of the workforce development pipeline, job opportunities will be available to youth ages 18 to 24 in roles such as:

These roles offer meaningful employment while contributing to MCE’s mission of delivering clean, equitable energy solutions to the communities we serve.

"For close to three decades, Climate Careers has served tens of thousands of homes through developing the careers and perspectives of thousands of youths. This kind of work takes a village, and we're honored to have MCE as part of our village. Climate Careers serves low income youths who stand to benefit the most from our services, and doing so involves building trust and being present in the community. That's easier said than done, and curating this work alongside trusted community institutions like MCE is part of how we walk our talk."

Interested in launching a career with impact? Applications are now open and being reviewed on a rolling basis until all positions are filled — so don’t wait!
