In response to the California Independent System Operator’s (CAISO) Interconnection Process Enhancement (IPE) initiative for the Interconnection Queue Cluster 15 (QC15) intake process, MCE is seeking project information from qualified suppliers intending to submit updated interconnection applications to the CAISO during the CAISO’s QC15 interconnection request application window. MCE is interested in various energy and capacity products.1
MCE is interested in the following types of projects, subject to specific preferences:
For Standalone Energy Storage Projects, MCE has a preference for projects in the following Transmission Zones: (i) SCE Northern and PG&E Fresno; (ii) Counties: Kern, Los Angeles, and Fresno; and (iii) at interconnection voltage levels at or above 220/230 kV.
For any project seeking commercial interest points from MCE, participants must provide MCE documentation including: project name, point of interconnection (POI), technology and size, and proof that a project is located in a Transmission Zone identified by the CAISO as having available transmission plan deliverability (TPD); and TPD is available at a project’s POI. MCE also has a preference for projects that are eligible for Project Viability points from the CAISO and seeks information to prove eligibility of Project Viability points.

Sell your energy through Feed-in Tariff Plus. Develop a small-scale renewable energy project on your property in Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, and Solano Counties.
MCE seeks qualified not-for-profit government agencies and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations or their fiscally sponsored projects to propose outreach initiatives to educate and engage residents across Marin, Contra Costa, Napa, or Solano counties about MCE’s environmental initiatives and cost-saving programs, aiming to increase community participation and awareness. Up to eight (8) projects will be awarded in amounts expected to be up to $30,000 per organization for work to be completed within one year.
Submission Deadline: 5:00 p.m. PDT on Monday, October 21, 2024
We encourage local women-, minority-, and LGBTQ+-owned businesses to certify with the California Public Utility Commission’s Supplier Clearinghouse. You can also certify as a small business or a disabled veteran-owned business with the Department of General Services Certification program. Certified vendors will be listed in directories that MCE and other utilities can access for our contracting needs.
