MCE’s EV Instant Rebate program offers a discount when you buy or lease a qualified vehicle at a participating dealership. Rebates can’t be claimed after the transaction is completed.
To be eligible to participate, you must:

* A household includes all people, including the rebate applicant, who reside together and/or share common living expenses. These income levels are equal to 400% of the 2025 Federal Poverty Level Guidelines. Income verification is completed for all members of the household ages 18+ years. Note: Roommates are considered part of the applicant’s household unless they have a separate lease.

Request MCE’s EV Instant Rebate at the dealership and purchase or lease a qualifying new or used EV or plug-in hybrid with a Vehicle Cash Price of $55,000 or less. Vehicle Cash Price is the price of the vehicle plus any dealer and/or manufacturer options/accessories (before taxes, fees, extended warranties, gap insurance and any down payments or incentives/rebates are applied). The dealership will verify if you’re eligible for MCE’s EV Instant Rebate.
MCE’s EV Instant Rebate will be provided by the retailer or dealer at the time of purchase.

Energy Solutions will support you through MCE’s EV Instant Rebate program and assist you with applying for additional rebates. A clean energy implementation firm, Energy Solutions also enrolls and trains car dealerships so that more customers can get instant savings when purchasing an EV.
Yes, more than one person in a household can apply for the EV Instant Rebate. However, you are limited to one rebate within a two-year period.
MCE offers this rebate for the lease or purchase of new or used EVs or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV), which are EVs with a gas back up. Gas hybrids with no plug-in option are not eligible.
For the rebate, an EV qualifies as “new” if it has an odometer reading of less than 7,500 miles and has never been the subject of a retail sale or previously registered, and if the final purchase price is no more than $55,000.

When purchasing or leasing an EV from Tesla, follow the steps below to ensure the MCE EV Instant Rebate is applied to your transaction:
EV Instant Rebates are applied by participating dealerships at the point of sale or lease for eligible customers. During the sales or lease process, the participating dealership will provide you with a Customer Eligibility Form, where you will review and attest to meeting the eligibility requirements. Note that you’re required to complete the Customer Eligibility Form in full, by hand. If a dealer fills out the form on your behalf, you must fill out a new one. MCE EV Instant Rebates can only be claimed as a discount at the time of lease or purchase of a qualified vehicle from a participating dealer.
If you’re purchasing a Tesla, please refer to their process referenced in the FAQ above.
If you’re purchasing from any other participating dealer, ask your salesperson to provide you with the Customer Eligibility Form form and apply the rebate as a discount. If they have questions, they can call the MCE EV Instant Rebate team at (628) 272-9910.
