Who’s Eligible

  • MCE customers who own and have lived in their single-family detached homes for at least 12 months in MCE’s service area
  • If your home has solar or EV charging, the equipment must have been installed for at least 12 months
  • Please note: To qualify for the rebates, you will not be able to install other home electrification projects (including solar, battery storage, or EV charging) for 12 months after your heat pump unit has been completely installed

Get a free home assessment

Your contractor will provide you with a free home assessment and a quote that includes MCE’s rebate and other available rebates and incentives.

Install your heat pump

Your contractor will install your new heat pump and handle your rebate application and program requirements. Depending on your contractor, your rebate will either be an upfront discount or a reimbursement after your project has been completed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, you are able to get rebates for both heat pump water heater and heat pump heating and cooling.

If the contractor you’d like to work with doesn’t currently offer MCE’s rebate, you can encourage the contractor to complete the Contractor Interest Form to enroll in MCE’s program. Enrollment is simple and won’t delay your project.

No, to qualify for MCE’s rebate, a project must be installed by a participating contractor who will process the rebate application paperwork on your behalf.

No, MCE’s rebates cannot be applied to a project retroactively. As long as the new equipment has not yet been installed, your contractor may apply for the rebate. 

Rebates vary depending on the type of existing equipment (gas vs. electric), the size of your home, and the capacity needed for your new equipment.

You may be able to stack additional rebates for extra savings — check MCE’s rebate and incentive finder for other savings opportunities. Don’t forget to ask your contractor to make sure you’re stacking all available rebates.

To be eligible for the MCE’s rebates, you cannot have installed solar or an EV charger within the previous 12 months, or plan to install solar or EV charging 12 months after your heat pump has been installed.
