Martinez, let’s celebrate something beautiful!

Join us on March 7, 2026, at 10 a.m. for the unveiling of a vibrant new mural at the Boys & Girls Club of Martinez.

A Vibrant Collaboration

This stunning mural, created by the local artist collective Illuminaries and sponsored by MCE, was more than just art — it was a symbol of community, creativity, and sustainability. Located at the Boys & Girls Club of Contra Costa, this mural celebrated the city’s commitment to sustainability, youth empowerment, and community collaboration. As a cornerstone of Martinez’s public art, it reflected the shared values of the City of Martinez, MCE, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Contra Costa.

In 2010, local advocates launched MCE as California’s first Community Choice Aggregation electricity provider to give their communities a true, renewable alternative that was not-for-profit and governed at the local level.

Today, MCE serves over 1.8 million people with clean energy service and cutting-edge energy programs across 38 communities. With the help of local leadership, businesses, and individuals like you, MCE is creating a brighter future for ourselves, the ones we love, and all living things on this planet. One notable project is energy-efficient upgrades at a 32-unit multifamily property in partnership with Eden Housing and the Association for Energy Affordability. This mural, created in celebration of Martinez’s milestone anniversary, is another step in MCE’s ongoing commitment to fostering growth, wellness, and sustainability in the community.
