Each year in April, the City celebrates Earth Day with a morning of volunteerism. We invite you to join or organize an Earth Day work party!

The City of El Cerrito welcomes volunteers to:

Help tidy parks & public spaces
Pick up litter to reduce the amount of trash that ends up in our creeks, waterways and the Bay
Remove invasive plants and weeds
Participate in activities that beautify our community’s natural areas
The City encourages individuals, families and groups to register their work parties in advance by completing a Work Party Registration Form or emailing earthday@elcerrito.gov with details on site location, number of volunteers and type of work that will be performed by Sunday, April 19, 2026.
