SAN RAFAEL y CONCORD, Calif. — Property owners in Napa County who are rebuilding homes lost in the October 2017 or recent 2018 wildfires can receive up to $12,540 in incentives per home through an integrated program offered by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, the Bay Area Regional Energy Network (BayREN), Napa County, MCE, and Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E).

“This exceptional, multi-agency collaboration provides vital support for our communities as they face the daunting process of rebuilding their homes and lives in the wake of the wildfires,”

The Advanced Energy Rebuild Napa program builds on PG&E’s long-standing California Advanced Homes Program, which provides incentives for energy efficiency measures in new home construction. MCE has requested and is overseeing a grant from the Bay Area Air Quality Management District to disperse rebates for electrification measures, including installation of smart thermostats, electric heat pump heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, solar panel systems with battery storage, and electric vehicle charging systems. As part of this program, MCE will also be working closely with the Napa County on residential outreach and referrals, and coordinating with BayREN to provide technical assistance so that more homeowners can access energy-efficient technologies.

“Access to several funding sources through a single application is essential to supporting customers who are recovering from the Napa County fires. In addition, these measures will improve air quality for residents while supporting California’s ambitious climate goals. Offering a single point of contact is the foundation of MCE’s programs. It allows our customers to easily participate in multiple programs. Removing the barriers that are often imposed by complex application processes is essential to increasing program participation.”

Advanced Energy Rebuild Napa launches on August 28, 2018 and is expected to run through the end of 2020 or until funding is exhausted. Incentives are available to MCE and PG&E customers for homes in Napa County that were destroyed by the wildfires.

This program is funded by a grant from the Bay Area Air Quality Management District and California utility customers, and administered by MCE and PG&E under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission.
