SAN RAFAEL et CONCORD, Calif. - MCE’s 2024 Open Season request for offers is seeking renewable energy resources including those with energy storage. These projects are intended to help lower greenhouse gas emissions while creating clean energy jobs and supporting underserved communities.

“MCE’s process for evaluating clean energy resources always includes an equity focus,” said Vicken Kasarjian, MCE COO. “We are prioritizing projects that will grow the local economy, offer environmental benefits beyond carbon reductions, and act as an example for how electricity providers should be supporting a clean energy future.”
Offers for renewable energy resources must be connected to the California Independent System Operator grid and include Resource Adequacy (RA). RA refers to projects that will provide additional energy to the grid in cases of extremely high demand.
MCE is also seeking energy paired with energy storage and will not accept any offers of stand-alone solar. Energy storage of any technology type will be considered along with four-hour and long-duration resources.
The resources requested in MCE’s 2024 Open Season will:
- Increase access to cost-effective renewable electricity,
- Improve grid reliability by offering additional resource adequacy, and
- Advance California’s climate goals.
Offers will be accepted between March 4 and March 22, 2024. Offers will be evaluated and shortlisted on a rolling basis and instructions and documents are available at mceCleanEnergy.org/energy-procurement. Pour toute question concernant le processus, veuillez vous adresser à RFO@mceCleanEnergy.org
