SAN RAFAEL at CONCORD, Calif. — Three Bay Area environmental leaders have been recognized for their dedication to a cleaner, healthier future.
On April 17, 2025, MCE’s Board of Directors honored the three recipients of its annual Charles F. McGlashan Advocacy Awards, established in 2011 to commemorate the legacy of MCE’s founding Chairman, Charles F. McGlashan. The award recognizes local changemakers for their outstanding environmental leadership and commitment to building climate-ready communities.
This year’s honorees include:

The Concord Chamber of Commerce
The Concord Chamber of Commerce has been a champion of MCE’s Small Business Energy Advantage program, helping 47 businesses access free energy assessments and upgrades since its October 2024 launch, with nine projects completed.

RCF Connects has been a key partner in MCE’s Richmond Virtual Power Plant (VPP) pilot project, converting blighted properties into modern, energy-efficient affordable homes for first-time, lower-income buyers.
