Whether you’re working with elementary, middle, or high school students, this toolkit offers age-appropriate materials that make learning about climate change both understandable and inspiring.
MCE’s Educator’s Toolkit is thoughtfully tailored by grade level to meet students where they are.
Elementary Students
For younger kids, the toolkit offers a bilingual energy activity coloring book, making learning about clean energy fun! Combine this with our English or Spanish video of Spoc the Owl’s clean energy adventure, and kids will get a great baseline for clean energy.
Middle School Students
Middle school students can dive deeper into clean energy with our Youth Climate Education toolkit, presentation, and jeopardy climate action game. Help them learn the basics of clean energy and test that knowledge with a fast-paced group game.
High School Students
Lastly, older students have the opportunity to explore more complex topics like power purchasing with our Power Up Your Community activity. Engage with the Youth Climate Education toolkit, go through the presentation, and then test students’ understanding with this math-based activity. They will undertake a simulation as a community choice agency, purchasing power for their customers in a market with limited capacity and based on the factors most important to their community.
