MCE Public Power Procurement Workshops: Index Plus and Hedges

These sessions are open to the public and will provide an opportunity for discussion and engagement on important power supply topics.

Workshop #1: Index Plus and Hedges

Time: 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM

Workshop #2: Resource Adequacy
Date: July 8, 2026
Time: 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM

The objectives of each workshop are to:
Provide a clear, shared understanding of key power supply concepts so all participants are equipped to engage; and
Facilitate discussion of portfolio tradeoffs the Board may consider in the future, including decisions around index-plus contracts, hedge contracts, and approaches to meeting Resource Adequacy requirements (e.g., clean versus gas-backed resources) and their cost, risk, and emissions implications.

Both workshops will be held at MCE offices and will also be accessible via Zoom. Light dinner will be served for in-person attendees.
